Portia: Ramapo tutor
Certified Tutor
I hold a Master's degree in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University and have been tutoring students in this subject for over 7 years. My journey as a tutor began when I realized that I could combine my passion for learning with my desire to help others succeed academically.
My teaching approach is student-centered, focusing on building a strong foundation while adapting to individual learning styles. I believe in fostering a collaborative and interactive learning environment. I've had the privilege of working with students of various skill levels, from struggling beginners to advanced learners looking for an extra challenge.
One of my proudest moments was witnessing a student I worked with go from barely passing their math exams to consistently earning top scores in just a few months. It was incredibly rewarding to see their confidence grow along with their understanding of the subject.
What drives me as a tutor is witnessing the 'aha' moments when a student grasps a challenging concept. Seeing their eyes light up with understanding is a testament to the power of effective teaching and personalized attention.
I understand that every student has a unique learning journey. I take the time to assess their strengths and areas for growth, crafting customized lesson plans to ensure their success. My excellent communication skills allow me to explain complex ideas in a clear and understandable manner. I also keep an open line of communication with students and parents to track progress and address concerns.
If you're ready to embark on a journey of learning and growth in your careers, I'm here to guide you every step of the way. Whether you're struggling with math or aiming to excel in English, I'm committed to helping you achieve your academic goals. Feel free to contact me to discuss how I can tailor my tutoring approach to meet your needs.
