Kobe Bryant once said "the most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do". I admire this quote because I love to inspire and help others learn math and grow their knowledge in the area. Growing up, I have always had a passion for the stem field. It was revealed to me that math came to me the easiest in comparison to the other core subjects in school. After I excelled in math and science and high school, I decided to go into the career field of Mechanical Engineering. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. While I was in college I became a tutor at my University to help other students that struggled with Math. I tutored courses such as Math 1, Math 2, Applied Mathematics and many more. I decided to tutor other students while in college because I have a passion for mathematics, so being able to spread my passion and understanding was truly an enjoyable experience for me. I want to help people understand that math is not as difficult as it appears. It is about having a solid foundation and understanding and building upon our own knowledge. Math is similar to building blocks. Having a strong understanding of the foundation, allows for you to expand your knowledge to unimaginable heights. I also like to show others that math is used on a daily basis. There are many basic scenarios that force us to use math and we aren't even aware of it. I saw a lot of growth and success using my student-centered tutoring style. By helping students and guiding them through the problems allows for them to develop a clear understanding of the topic. I would like to continue tutoring now that I have graduated because I have developed more of a knowledge in more specialties of math. Sharing my love, understanding & passion for math is a huge privilege of mine.
