Certified Tutor

I have a rich history of working with students of all ages. I have certifications through the American Red Cross in Health and Safety and over the past 30 years have taught students from 6 months -80 years in the areas of First Aid, CPR, and Water Safety. In addition, I have an undergraduate degree in Biology from Drake Univeristy, an undergraduate and master's in Latin American Studies (Drake and UCSD), as well as a Master and Doctoral degree in Education (Saint Mary's University of MN).
I have taught and/or worked in the capacity of a teacher, administrator, and teacher leader in public K-12 education for over 19 years. I currently work as a Research Strategist at a small non-profit.

I am fluent in Spanish and intermediate in both German and Portuguese.

The main subjects I enjoy teaching and tutoring are Life Science, Earth Science and other related Science topics as well as Spanish and Microsoft Excel/computer software subjects.

I enjoy working with students of all ages because I firmly believe anyone, at any age, can master material when given the right encouragement, scaffolding, support, and time. Everyone is a lifelong learner, the secret is finding what they are passionate about and building upon that foundation!.
