Kamil: Manhattan tutor
Certified Tutor
Hello! I'm Kamil, a newly appointed tutor. Currently, I'm a second-year student at Amherst College, majoring in computer science and mathematics. Since a young age, I've been captivated by the intricacies of mathematics and enjoyed challenging myself with seemingly unsolvable problems. As I matured, my passion for mathematics expanded, driving me to help struggling students, especially those in underfunded school districts.
Around two years ago, I established my own tutoring service, covering a wide range of topics, from elementary mathematics to linear algebra, where I have demonstrated mastery and proficiency. Simultaneously, I worked at Mathnasium, instructing K-12 students. On average, I taught approximately twenty students daily and fostered strong relationships with them. As a tutor, I firmly believe in recognizing individual learning curves and making dedicated efforts to adapt and innovate teaching methods to ensure a thorough comprehension of the material.
During my time at Mathnasium, I had the opportunity to work with students facing various learning disabilities, such as dyscalculia. To overcome the inherent challenges associated with these disabilities, I provided intensified support, reinforcing foundational concepts and allowing students to dictate the pace of the lessons. By giving them the opportunity to express themselves and maintaining focused attention, I witnessed increased confidence and reduced apprehension when approaching complex problems involving algorithms or number sense.
My ultimate goal is to transform mathematics into a universal language accessible to all, unimpeded by barriers or obstacles. I am passionate about fostering a world where every individual can confidently interpret and understand mathematical concepts, regardless of their background or circumstances. By providing inclusive and personalized instruction, I strive to empower students and eliminate any hindrances in their mathematical journey.
