Certified Tutor

In 2019, I received my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of California, Berkeley. I worked in an infectious disease laboratory for four years, then went on to pursue an MD/PhD with a focus on microbiology/immunology. Throughout undergrad and grad school, I maintained a passion for teaching others. I have tutored high school, college, and medical students in various subjects; however, I am most passionate about biology and medicine. I have significant experience in prepping students for standardized exams (such as the MCAT, ACT, and SAT). As someone who recently took many of these tests, I understand how stressful and overwhelming the material may seem. One of my goals as a tutor is to help students overcome their initial anxieties surrounding these exams. During my tutoring sessions, I prioritize practice questions, test-taking strategies and material review. I have a big passion for science, and I enjoy sharing that passion with others when I teach.

Hobbies

In my spare time, I love to play basketball, hike, travel. I recently backpacked through the coasts of Italy and Spain. Seeing the ancient art and architecture sparked my more recent interest in world history. I highly recommend listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast for anyone who wants an engaging in-depth analysis of a specific time period!
