Certified Tutor

I have more than twenty years of experience as a general, adult, special educator and administrator in public and charter schools. I earned a MA in Leadership in Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University. My last position was that of Assistant Principal in a high school for youth that weren't successful in traditional school settings. That experience made be very creative when it comes to teaching. I take what interests my students and connect it to the subjects and content they need to learn. While I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Reading, Writing and History. I believe that the more one can use words to invoke feelings and challenge people to think, the more opportunities one will be afforded. I also believe that everyone is intelligent in at least one area of their lives, regardless of past or present circumstances and experiences. In my spare time, I enjoy painting furniture, spending time with my family, and water aerobics.

Hobbies

I really enjoy painting and creating wood furniture! I think it's an art form that not many people are aware of. Additionally, I love to travel to warm places where the water is blue and peaceful. I spend lots of time with my two teenagers and my husband.
