Hello! My name is Samantha and I am a teacher and writer from New York. I have a BA in literature, history, and Spanish from Wesleyan University. I have five years experience as a private tutor and two as a public school teacher. My specialities include ESL, elementary education, literacy, writing (both academic and creative), and Spanish. I am fluent in Spanish and have TEFL and C1 Spanish language fluency certifications and am currently studying to receive my interpreter certification. I was an ESL teacher for 2 years at a Spanish bilingual school in Granada, Spain. I work now as a private tutor, a writing teacher, a non-profit Outreach Coordinator, and a freelance writer. Developing an individualized approach for every student's academic and intellectual needs is my priority as both a teacher and tutor. I hope to make every student feel capable and hope to teach them how to learn and why learning can be interesting. I aim to separate learning from the stress of grades and school to help students appreciate it on their own terms and help them find the learning style that is best for them. A students' success in school is not necessarily reflective of their intelligence and my goal as an educator is to show my students that.
