Certified Tutor

I am an undergraduate from The University of Texas at El Paso. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physics with a minor in Computer Science. In my second year of college I became a peer leader for General Chemistry I and a High School tutor. At the university I helped other undergraduates like me succeed in the class by reviewing the material, asking questions, and doing practice problems with them. I am still currently a tutor at a high school, and my main focus is with students that are struggling with Algebra 1, as well as with students that are struggling with the English language because they are Spanish speakers coming mainly from Mexico. I am very passionate about Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Pre-calculus, Physics and Chemistry. I believe that what makes a better learning experience is having a strong relationship between the student and the teacher. I encourage my students to aim for understanding and not just better grades. I believe education is an essential part of an individual, the more educated, the more opportunities will be available for them.
