As an educator, I love seeing the spark in a student's eye when they grasp a concept they have struggled with. It is so fulfilling to be a part in helping that student gain more confidence in their ability to learn new things. I am an educator with 11 years classroom experience and 2 years online teaching experience. I went to college at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.
I tutor Elementary English, Elementary Math, Elementary Reading, Elementary Science, Elementary Writing, and Elementary Social Studies along with English, Math, Science, Writing and Social Studies.
I love to teach Reading and Phonics. Helping students to be more confident readers brings me so much joy. I also love Social Studies because all the classes that fall under that category were some of my favorites when I was a student.
My teaching philosophy and tutoring style is to motivate students by creating a learning environment tied to each individual student's interest and hobbies. I enjoy building a strong rapport with my students, so I can tailor our sessions for them.
Outside of teaching and tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family, going on hikes, reading books, playing board games, doing crafts and drinking coffee.
