I am a recent graduate of the University at Buffalo having obtained my Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. While I am most passionate about history, which is the main subject I tutor, I also tutor and hold strong interests in writing and English. I firmly believe that education in the Arts and Social Sciences is just as important as any other subject, but I know for some these are not easy subjects to learn.
My approach to learning and teaching history relies on understanding, rather than memorization. I believe that the best way to achieve this is through learning about a specific topic on a timeline of events, allowing for the subject to be seen in the context of the time in which it took place. While history is certainly my academic passion, in my off time I am an avid gamer, hiker, and woodworker.

Within an academic sphere I am most interested in World History and Politics. Outside of that sphere I have many passions and hobbies. After learning about forestry through a job in my teens I have become an avid hiker. In that same time period I also became extremely interested in woodworking and carpentry. In another direction, I am very interested in technology and IT, which originally stems from my love of gaming. In fact, gaming is how I became interested in history to begin with, playing games like Stronghold as a child, and then playing Sid Meier's Civilization and many Paradox Interactive games. I am also a trading card collector, and love to read. My favorite genres are fantasy and historical fiction.
