I am a current undergraduate student studying economics at the University of Texas. My prior teaching experience is with students aged 6-15. I've been a teaching assistant at various museum summer programs but most recently, I was president of a program that taught underprivileged middle school students debate skills and techniques.
I tutor various subjects but excel in teaching debate, history, and all things reading/writing. When it comes to reading/writing, I enjoy helping students draft and edit essays as well as tutoring students in the reading section of the SAT.
My teaching philosophy is centered around applying simple principles to complicated problems. Whether it's a math concept or a reading comprehension question, that philosophy is often the solution.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy mountain biking and reading. I am currently reading Shgun by James Clavell.

Reading has been one of my favorite activities for as long as I can remember. It's a cliche, but reading really does transport you to another world. I also love mountain biking. It's something I have picked up in the past year and I go out whenever the weather permits it.
