Amanda: Roanoke tutor
Certified Tutor
Teaching has been my passion for many years. I have worked with students that struggled with learning and enjoy helping them not only improve their skills but learn to love learning as well.
I have a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. I have two Master's degrees, one in elementary education and the other in mathematics. I currently finishing up a Master's degree in secondary education as well. I have a Specialist degree and a Doctorate degree in educational leadership.
I have taught middle school math for 10 years and will begin teaching Algebra 1 in the fall. I am certified to teach grades K-6 with additional certifications for 7th through12th-grade mathematics, English, and social studies. I will have the certifications for grades 7th through 12th-grade general science and STEM by the end of the summer.
At some point, I want to move into administration, but I do not want to leave the classroom just yet. I enjoy what I do and plan to continue doing so for a few more years.

I enjoy reading, watching the Law and Order series, and spending time with my family. My oldest daughter began college this summer and my youngest daughter is an upcoming sophomore in high school. She is in the band which keeps me busy in October with football games and band competitions. I read various books. Currently I am doing a book study for a STEM class. I also enjoy reading Nicholas Sparks, Nora Roberts, J.K. Rowling, and the older V.C. Andrews books. I also find myself reading books my children read, for they like to discuss books with me. So the last series I read was "To All the Boys I Loved Before." And of course, they wanted me to watch the movies with them too.
