Certified Tutor

I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics at Appalachian State University. I hope to graduate in December 2022. My tutoring career started with helping my little brother with Algebra around 3 years ago. It was at this point that I realized I loved tutoring math. Now I have 3 more students that I tutor math to and I thoroughly enjoy it. When it comes to tutoring math, I believe it is very important, in whatever way possible, to make each meeting time fun, interesting and enjoyable. My students and I laugh a lot! One of the most important things about a tutor is that the goal isn't too give the student the correct answer, but rather guide them in the right direction so they can figure it our for themselves. I like to do this best by asking exactly the right question.
I also have experience tutoring at the math lab at Appalachian State University where I helped other undergrad students with math classes ranging from college Algebra to Calculus 3. However, I mostly enjoy tutoring middle school math through Algebra.
