I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Saint Thomas with a concentration in zoology and environmental science. I am currently working towards a PhD in Entomology at the University of Minnesota. I also have an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from North Hennepin Community College.
My tutoring experiences include serving as a peer biology tutor, and as a general STEM and writing tutor for K-12 and adult learners through the public library. I have also taught freshman college level courses in entomology and human biology.
I am a broadly trained biologist and can provide tutoring for a variety of biological topics. My current research is split between ecology and molecular biology. I have also received training to tutor essay writing and have experience working with ESL students.
I believe that STEM is for everyone and that mastering biology is within every student's reach. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, dancing, and hiking.

My professional interests include community ecology and conservation. I currently study an endangered bumble bee species to learn more about its habitat requirements and to improve survey methodologies. I am also designing a minimally harmful technique for collecting genetic samples from bumble bees that can be used on protected species. My personal hobbies include walking my dogs in nature areas, dancing, biking, yoga, cooking, and playing 90's computer games.
