I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Elementary Education and Mild Intervention (Special Education). I consider myself a life-long learner which is why I became an educator. Since graduating, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade where I focused on struggling students in both math and reading. My favorite part about teaching is watching "the lightbulb" come on for a student who has mastered a concept. I love reading in my spare time and am passionate about sharing that love for reading with my students. My favorite subject to teach is math because it is something I struggled with as a student and I enjoy sharing techniques and strategies with students so they become math-confident. I believe it is my responsibility as an educator to meet students where they are so that they can take ownership in their accomplishments and achieve the goals we set together. When students play an active part in their own learning, they become life-long learners.
