Hello, my name is Teacher Jennifer. I live in Charlotte, NC. I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Spring Arbor University. My teaching experienced consist of teaching children and adults. One of my most rewarding teaching experience was working one on one with a student who had a learning disability. Learning was a struggle for my student and often times he became frustrated and restless; so I came up with strategies to help him overcome these obstacles. A strategy that I used was breaks in between hard concepts, or when reading wasn't the main focus I read things to him. I also encouraged and praised him when he tried even if he didn't get the right answer. I also found things that he could relate to and found interesting and turned it into a lesson; for example, I had him pick a writing topic to practice his writing skills.
I believe all children can learn and are bright in their own skill and purpose in life, and it is up to adults to encourage and bring out the best in each student.
