Certified Tutor
I graduated from the University of Lynchburg with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biomedical Science, and Statistics with a minor in math in 2021. During my sophomore year, I worked for the school as a tutor in general chemistry. I discovered that I loved teaching and helping students find meaning, if not enjoyment, in chemistry! I stayed with the tutoring program for three years until I graduated. I helped students in courses such as general chemistry, genetics, and introductory statistics.
I am passionate about teaching and firmly believe that learning is meant to be fun! I have the goal of trying to get my students to laugh at least once per session. (I love making terrible puns!) I try to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gain confidence in their abilities. I want students to develop a mindset of "We don't make mistakes or fail, we simply learn ways that don't work", so they can tackle any new problem or challenge.
Outside of academia and teaching, I love cooking and playing with cats! I'm always excited to try a new recipe or cook a new dish. I'm currently learning how to cook Indian food in hopes of being able to replicate my favorite meals, like paneer masala.
