Certified Tutor

I graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College with a Bachelor's in English Education and with a license to teach Language Arts in grades 6-12th (my license is not currently active.) I also have a master's degree in Christian Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary. Since graduation, I have worked as a teacher and a tutor in various settings including a church, a private Christian academy, and online. I am a certified TESOL teacher and work with adults onine to improve their English skills. While my main subject areas are English (including reading) and ESL, I have also tutored students in a variety of subjects at the elementary level including math and social studies. Further, I have experience working with life skills, study skills, and regulating emotion. I honestly believe that each learner has a unique style of learning and a ability to demonstrate their strengths when given adequate resources, attention, and encouragement. In my classes I strive to create a learning environment built on structure, respect, and fun. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking my dog, and going to new places with my family.
