Certified Tutor

I am a Graduate Student completing my MS in Secondary Education for English at SUNY at Albany. In May, I will have my NYS Teaching Certification. I got my BA in English at the same university, where I also double minored in Creative Writing and Film Studies. I've taught in middle and high school classrooms, and I can't wait to continue teaching here.

I've learned so much about the importance of collaboration and student agency in learning. I also believe in the importance of meeting the specific needs and honoring the unique interests of each student. Every person I meet is capable of accomplishing more than they know. My job is just to help them see that for themselves through time and practice. I tutor English and Literature, and I love bringing film, television, and creativity into the classroom! I firmly believe that English and Literature are incredibly important skill sets to hone and develop since we use these skills to communicate effectively through art, academia, and even in everyday life.

In my spare time, I love reading, hiking with friends, time with my dog, running, trying new foods, watching cozy Twitch streams, and playing video games.
