Certified Tutor

Since the pandemic, I have taught English as a Second Language online to adults. I am a certified TEFOL instructor.

Prior to this, I worked with autistic children using Applied Behavior Analysis during therapy sessions to address communication and social interaction as well as developing good and domestic skills.

Apart from teaching, my professional background has been in managing cases for social service programs and volunteering abroad as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Grenada and El Salvador on youth development and disaster preparedness projects.

I have a B.A. in Social Relations from Michigan State University and an M.A. from the School for International Training in Sustainable Development.

Teaching English is a subject that I enjoy immensely. I also enjoy teaching reading, writing, and basic mathematics. I can also help students better understand American history and social studies.

Tutoring in small groups or individually has been a comfort for me over the past 5 years.

Hobbies

I am interested in traveling the world, speaking Spanish, and fixing things around the house like a running toilet. Recently, I took up playing the piano. I still have a long way to go but I appreciate learning how to read notes and make music.
