I have an undergraduate degree in English from Western Washington University, a Master's in Education from Pacific Lutheran University, and an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in Creative Writing from Goddard College. I am currently teaching English composition, literature, and developmental writing at both Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, Texas, and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. These classes include online, remote learning, and face-to-face instruction. Prior to teaching at the college level, I taught all levels of high school English in Washington State and California. My goal as an instructor is to help students recognize their own strengths and to enhance those skills to meet their educational goals. Whether you're working on reading or writing skills in any genre, there are no tricks. Improvement requires practice and a willingness to learn.

In my spare time, I ride motorcycles, and I recently returned from South America, where my brother and I rode from Santiago, Chile to Ushuaia, Argentina (the southernmost city on the American continent) and back. The scenery was breathtaking, the people we met were fantastic, and the food was incredible. I’m also a novelist. My published work includes a thriller series about a private detective who lives and works in San Antonio. My latest book will be published in September and is called The Alamo. You can check out the series on Amazon under my pen name, George Lee Miller.
