Certified Tutor

I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Philosophy of Law. I have always been an avid reader, as I believe there are endless benefits when it comes to analyzing literature. Reading, in general, has always been an underrated medium of entertainment, and as a tutor, I wish to show my students how beneficial books can be. Delving into stories allows us to understand a multitude of perspectives, as this helps us become more empathetic and understanding as a whole. In regards to my experience, I have tutored English for a variety of grade levels, including AP Lang and Lit. I have also tutored for College Algebra and Calculus in the past, however, my passion lies in humanities and I can't wait to pursue that with Varsity Tutors. When it comes to my teaching philosophy, I emphasize the importance of two-way communication, as this is effective when trying to decipher students learning styles. I would like my students to know that their needs always come first, and I am here to facilitate a space in which they can flourish, not only as a learner but as growing, young adults.
