Richard: Shorewood tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and have been a hobbyist programmer since age 13. My area of expertise is the Python programming language and I have a passion for all things related to computer science as well as math.
I'm a frequent helper in online Python communities and familiar with complex theoretical topics such as data structures and algorithms and big O notation. I have experience with many other languages and paradigms, including JavaScript, Java, and C#.
I'm a strong believer in the importance of education, especially STEM topics. I think everyone should learn to code for its practicality, and learn some important ideas underlying math and computer science, regardless of what they go on to do. I was a math tutor in the past and it was always rewarding seeing that "a-ha" moment when a student understood a concept. I hope I can achieve more of that by sharing my knowledge.

In my spare time I enjoy doing code challenges on sites like LeetCode and doing personal programming projects such as writing Python packages. I enjoy watching videos about all types of technology as well as esoteric topics in mathematics. I also watch a lot of gaming on Twitch.
