I graduated from Colorado State University in December of 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. I have worked with a wide range kids for the past 4 years. The ages of kids I have worked with range from 5-21. I worked at a child care center over summer vacation for two years. While there, I created weekly lesson plans that offered supplemental learning for students over summer break while still having fun. I led a group of 30 kids through different engaging and educational activities. In college, I interned with an organization that worked with at risk adolescents. I helped to build trusting adult relationships while helping to teach coping strategies and positive behaviors. Many of these kids struggled with attention as well as pro social behaviors. We worked on keeping attention on the task at hand as well as working as a part of a group. We also focused on problem solving skills. Most recently, I have been working in school as an Educational Assistant for special needs students. I have worked with kids who need extra support in a general education classroom as well as kids in a Life Skills classroom who generally need very high levels of support. I love to figure out what motivates a student so that we can have fun while learning. My schooling and my experience have helped me learn how to adapt lessons to each individual student. No kid learns the same way, and it is important to figure out how a child needs to be taught. I look forward to meeting students and getting to connect with them via tutoring!

I have a lot of creative interests. I love to crochet as well as create music. I find that creating is a good way to take time to regulate yourself. I also love taking my dog on walks and playing with my cat. During hockey season, I am normally watching and cheering on the Colorado Avalanche!
