Certified Tutor

I became a teacher because I am passionate about helping students. I believe that all students should have access to any and all resources needed to help them succeed. There is nothing a child 'can't' do. I was previously a 1st grade teacher, but am certified to teach grades K-6. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Towson University. I have a goal to work towards a Masters degree in Developmental Psychology so I can continue to help children in a different light. Outside of teaching, I have been a cheerleading coach, summer camp counselor and director, and have many hours of volunteer work with children. As a student I always loved Math. Because of that, as a teacher I strive to make Math fun, as it can be one of the more daunting/disliked subjects by students. I also love how Reading and Writing can be interpreted in different ways by students and allows them to bring their personalities into their work and discussions. In my spare time I enjoy running, skiing, and playing with my Labrador Retriever puppy named Ricky! I hope I have the opportunity to be your teacher!
