Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Nevada State College, where I received my Bachelors of Arts in English. Since graduation, I have been privately tutoring elementary students in subjects such as reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and language development.

While I did graduate with a degree in English, I am also passionate about Literature, Poetry, History, and Women's Studies. Each of those disciplines are not only interconnected, but also bring forth different understandings of human conditions, social laws, and how language is understood.

In my experience with tutoring, I have learned to meet students where they are at to enable them to achieve their academic goals. I encourage questions and honor new modalities of learning. Being a tutor means advocating for the tutees and showing them how to be more confident in where they struggle. We are on the same team, and the efforts they put forth are also a reflection of how much I pour into them.
