Certified Tutor
I have work experience of 8 years in the field of environmental sustainability. I completed the Master in Environmental Science and Bachelor in Microbiology. I am also an alumnus of the Professional Fellows Program of the United States Department and an IGBC Accredited Professional.
I am passionate about the environmental subject as it is of utmost importance for everyone to deeply understand the subject. This will help us to make sound decisions on how to avoid becoming conspicuous consumers and to lead a planet-friendly lifestyle. When I interacted with students, I realize that students are not getting the right kind of education about environmental science. Students take the subject lightly and insignificant. Current education system discourages associative learning and teaching methods are compartmentalized. I foster 'learning centric' pedagogy where the generative theme is 'how can my students learn this' vs. 'how will I teach this and I approach teaching with the quote - 'Effective teaching is maximum learning with minimum intervention.'
My work experiences are listed below:
a. 4 years as Environmental Analyst for Sustainable Framework implementation. I can assist architects to design climate responsive and passively cooled buildings.
b. I have conducted listening and co-created workshops as the Project Manager of the Fairconditioning program for 3 years. This program is to reduce AC demand from buildings and to integrate sustainability principles and concepts into the academic curriculum.
c. Worked at the World resources Institutes for GHG Emissions Accounting in Supply Chains and how to track emissions for different scopes
d. I am rooted in practicing empathetic dialog, conflict-management, non-violent communication, consensus building, collaborative games, and brainstorming techniques.
e. Team lead in improving thermal comfort for the marginalized populations in Indian cities. It includes working collaboratively with a team of architecture students, product designers to devise passive and sustainable cooling prototypes for informal settlements.
