Daniel: Rockville tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a lifelong learner: 20 years and counting of formal education, with a BS in Secondary Education from the University of Texas-Austin (certified to teach English and Physical Sciences); graduate work in Philosophy at the University of Montana (philosophy of language, history and philosophy of science, and the history of philosophy); and an MA in Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School at Arizona State University.
I love sharing my learning with others, too, and doing so is one of the best strategies for deepening my own learning. This goes for the high school students I taught Physics, Chemistry and other sciences; my colleagues in the software development, testing, and implementation fields; undergraduate students in Philosophy and Intro to Data Science; the professionals taking time and thought to learn advanced use of spreadsheets and databases; and the two students I tutored in Latin!
My teaching is conscientious with regard to sources I use, and with regard to my students' specific needs and circumstances.
Against that foreground of immediate tutoring objectives, is the background of my wide reading and travel, and my teaching is always infused with an enthusiasm for the wisdom of the world.
