I graduated from Florida International University in April 2021 earning a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Astronomy. Currently, I am working on publishing a scientific paper with my mentor, Dr. Jillian Bellovary, on my research for "Detecting Merging Black Holes in Dwarf Galaxies." In the future, I wish to obtain a Ph.D. in astrophysics, and become a professor.

Before I entered the scientific community, I was heavily involved with electronic music production, sound engineering, and jazz voice. In fact, I studied these topics before I received my Bachelors degree at FIU, at Miami Dade College and earned an Associates in Arts for Music/Music Education. Music has since then become a very enriching hobby.

"Star Wars" is a very prominent influence in my life. Believe it or not, it's what gave me the courage to ever pursue a career in the sciences! This influence later allowed me to join a non-profit charity organization, costuming and performance group known as "Saber Guild," which is Lucasfilm recognized. This allows me to inspire young minds in a different way, and provide nostalgia for the inner child in every adult. In "Saber Guild," I am known as Darth Vek'tra, Dark Lord of the Sith!

Growing up as a Hispanic female, encouragement for STEM by my grade school teachers was very low, and it's why I've become passionate about teaching young students about math and science. I want to encourage those that feel intimidated by such topics and give stars in the eyes of these young, bright minds, who are absolutely capable of doing what might seem impossible. I wish to inspire others to follow their dreams in the sciences, even when the world is telling them no, as the world told me. I believe anything is possible when you set your heart and mind towards a specific goal, and I am proof of this. Due to my education, I am now able to tutor subjects like math (including topics such as algebra, intermediate algebra, and middle school math), and science (including middle school science, physics and astronomy). Joining with Varsity Tutors is truly exciting, for it will allow me to help young students achieve in STEM!
