As a teacher I believe in and follow two teaching philosophies: Love and Logic AND Growth Mindset. This ends up looking like it being very clear how much I love and care for my students while also pushing them to learn from the hard moments. While I am encouraging my students to do their best work, I am always reminding them that "we can do hard things." By keeping this in mind, it makes learning so much more fun! I love helping students have those light bulb moments.
A little bit about me, I have been a working with kids for 20 years and teaching for 10 years. I received my undergraduate from Columbia College, SC and my partial Master's (for my learning disability teacher license add on) from Furman University. This means that I have a background in both general and special education, all at the elementary level. I love tutoring in reading, writing, math, and social/emotional best! In my free time, I love photography, reading, cooking, and spending time with my
my husband and our cat.
