Certified Tutor

I am passionate about educating our youth. I have been tutoring elementary aged children for nearly 7 years, two being with AmeriCorps. I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where I took extensive Elementary Education courses and earned a Bachelor's degree in Urban Psychology. Upon graduation I joined Teach For America and taught middle school English Language Arts for two years.

Since then I have continued my love for education by working within the school system and tutoring. I understand the importance of literacy. I have dedicated years to teaching and tutoring students in a way that shows learning can be fun. Seeing students light up after understanding a concept is one of the most rewarding moments in this field. It is the driving force within me to not only believe in every child but have them believe in themselves.
