Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA; Passed all 4 exams on 1st attempt). I received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, a Master of Financial Management, and a Minor in Economics in 2018. I have experience tutoring late elementary to high school age students in one-on-one session which included help with homework, study skills, and test preparation. I have also lectured students in a classroom setting as a Teaching Assistant during my time in college. My family has a passion for teaching. My grandmother was a teacher and principal for 40 years, and my uncle and mother serve in administrative capacities for school districts across the State of Texas. I am available to tutor a variety of subjects, but I am most passionate about Math, Accounting, Finance, and Economics as I believe these subjects are fundamental in our lives. I am results driven and my structured approach to learning has helped my students become more confident in difficult subjects and perform better in class. I firmly believe education is a life-long journey and my goal is to inspire my students to not only study to ace an upcoming exam but to aspire to become life-long learners. In my free time I enjoy cooking (and eating), watching sports, working in my garden, and spending time in the outdoors with my fiance and our two dogs.

Hobbies

One of my greatest passions outside of tutoring and my day job is cooking. I have found that dedicating time on a daily basis to cook dinner helps to clear my mind and spark creativity and problem solving. I love to cook many different types of food from homemade pasta to a smoked brisket – I enjoy it all. I’m told my signature dish would be creole redfish with a crawfish cream sauce and charred asparagus over rice. I also enjoy the vegetable and fruit garden I have in my backyard. Depending on the season, I grow everything from garlic, onions, and blueberries to spinach, potatoes, and strawberries, and I have found enjoyment in optimizing and planning the garden to produce the most abundant yield. My goal is to eat something I have grown on a daily basis. I also enjoy spending time in the outdoors with my fiancée (to be married in October) and our two dogs, Fischer and Cooper. Fischer is a black lab and Cooper is a miniature Australian Shepard.
