Bethany

Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate with a combined 5 years of teaching and tutoring experience including serving as a university instructor and teaching assistant with the University of Oregon and a math and physics tutor at Saginaw Valley State University. I am passionate about providing students with the tools, confidence, and curiosity necessary to succeed in learning math and physics content. I have an adaptive tutoring style, and can adjust my teaching methods depending on your needs and learning style(s).

I received a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Saginaw Valley State University and went on to receive a Master's degree in Physics from The University of Oregon. While at SVSU, I worked as an Environmental Engineer and an academic tutor while coaching a travel softball team. In graduate school, I led a team of teaching assistants who taught undergraduate physics courses, and tutored physics for undergraduate physics majors. I was a mentor in the JUMP! program at UO which provides graduate mentoring to undergraduate students. I was elected President of the Women in Physics chapter at UO where I helped to host research fairs and social events for undergraduates interested in physics. In addition, I was a founding member of the Womxn & TGNC in STEM - a group that actively worked to bring together women across all sciences and provide them with mentorships, guidance, and research opportunities at the university.

I am hardworking, competent, and trustworthy, and look forward to tutoring you in math and/or physics! If you have any questions as to whether I might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out.
