When I was in college, I noticed that it gave me a good amount of pride whenever a student I tutored had that lightbulb "ah ha!" moment about a concept. I knew that at that point I had helped them to understand a concept at a higher level of understanding.

My experience with tutoring includes my college peers and after college in accounting and finance. I have experience helping students to review the material to helping students who are struggling to pass the class.

As a tutor I focus on comprehension of fundamental concepts and practicing examples, as I believe this approach better helps students with longer term memorization and understanding.

I have a B.A. in Accounting and a B.A. in Political Science from Flagler College. I graduated summa cum laude with academic achievement awards for both my majors. I have five years of experience working as an auditor and corporate accountant. Three of my five years included working as a Technical Accountant for a Fortune 500 company, so I have plenty of experience interpreting the actual accounting guidance for GAAP and IFRS, as well as industry-specific accounting guidance. As a part of my role as a technical accountant, I was part of a team that interpreted and implemented the newest accounting standards at my company. I am also a licensed CPA in Virginia.
