I was "that kid" who hid under a blanket with a flashlight to read stellar, thick-as-a-brick books until the wee hours of the morning. One of my favorites was the poignant novel by Victor Hugo, Les Miserables. Inspired by what I read, I started stories of my own. Someday I hope to publish them.
I enjoyed teaching ELA in the public school system, and I am currently teaching my own children at home, which is why I love doing online tutoring from home. The best part of it is asking the right questions to help people push through their mind blocks when they get stumped.
I love anything to do with reading and writing, and I love working with people, so that's why I got a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in English Teaching. More important than that, however, I have a MOM degree. Ever heard of that one? That's right, I helped my own beautiful, wonderful children (yes, I am biased!) with school. Public school, charter school, online school, homeschool, we have done it all, and plenty of homework to boot. I've never met a problem we can't conquer together.
After a hard day of work; doing school, taking care of our farm animals, cooking meals, folding laundry, and cleaning house, the lovely night-time comes. That's when my youngest begs me for a bedtime story and we all enjoy some time together in brain-boosting imagination land. Sometimes we read from the fascinating classics and brush minds with the great authors of the past. In other words, I love all things English and would be delighted to help you with yours.

I love running because it helps me know I can do hard things. Also it feels so good. . . when it's over! I love reading good books, writing stories, going hiking with my family, working in the garden, playing basketball, swimming, and doing work projects together.
