Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Lewis and Clark College with a BA in English and Foreign Languages. My teaching experience ranges from middle school through university, as well as community education classes. My great joy in life is seeing students' faces when they understand a difficult concept or conquer a problem they have been struggling with. For 6 years I lived in Zambia, Africa teaching conflict resolution and peacebuilding to students from many countries and to refugees. I recently retired from teaching at the university level and am now working with students 1 on 1 as an English tutor. I especially enjoy adapting lessons to fit with each student's learning styles, because I realize that each student has her/his own unique way of learning. When I'm not teaching I'm either knitting or working with church and community groups to decrease racism and prejudice.
