After switching to online instruction due to the pandemic, I realized that I was well suited for online instruction as I thrived with this method and my students thrived as well.

I understand the importance to make sure every child's needs are met, and this is something that is easily forgotten when it comes to online teaching. As someone with a lot of experience with special needs (including in my own family,) I would like to teach virtually to help close those gaps and to help students who fall through the cracks if their needs are not being met.

I also believe that online learning needs to incorporate opportunities for hands on learning and exploring off-screen, and the teacher should create an engaging, fun environment that the students look forward to joining every day.

Hobbies

- Reading (I especially love Historical Fiction) - Singing at the top of my lungs along to Disney musicals (my thoughts have been replaced with Hamilton lyrics...) - Driving to far places to purchase used furniture to restore, while getting to know Central Florida at the same time. - Avid aquarist: I have two axolotls that will hopefully breed soon, as well as a colony of over 100+ shrimp and a couple fish tanks.
