Certified Tutor

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University and my Master's Degree in Special Education (Behavior Intervention and Support) from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. In addition, I have a TEFL-C Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language-Children).
I have recently taught and traveled in China which gave me the opportunity to explore the landmarks in that area of the world. Travel also exposed me to different viewpoints and interesting discussions related to education (and other subjects, of course!). I am always trying to grow and develop myself and there were certainly many opportunities there. One unexpected new skill was playing darts! I joined a darts team which also allowed me to explore different areas of Beijing while meeting new people and eating good food.
When tutoring children, I enjoy finding the likes and strengths of each child and, not only building upon them, but also using them to develop other areas of learning. I hope that children I teach love learning and begin to see that they can look for (research) the information they want to know.
