I have been working as a Bilingual Science Teacher, English and Spanish for 20 years in different levels from Elementary to High School. I am a graduate from National Pedagogical University of Colombia. I received my Bachelor's degree in science with emphasis on Biology. My thesis was on Biotechnology and was awarded best thesis in the Colombian National Congress of Biological Sciences. The areas of study I am most comfortable tutoring are: Biology, Spanish, English for beginners along with Reading and Math at Elementary levels. In my spare time, I enjoy reading about different topics, exercising, listening to music, and watching documentaries, my favorites: Aerial America and Europe from Above.
I have always been passionate about education and what I love the most is to be able to find the learning approach that better fits the needs of my students. My main goal as a tutor is helping struggling students in their school performance. I also want to provide them with the necessary skills to be more organized, more persistent and able to reach their goals. I am comfortable using tools like Zoom, Hangouts, Google Classroom and Skype for online sessions.
I believe that our role as teachers is to promote a long-lasting motivation in our students for learning. Every day brings a new challenge, and you will need to learn about it and to find a way to face it.
