Last spring, I graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from the University of North Texas (UNT). I am now taking a gap year to tutor full-time. I have always been passionate about helping students to understand material that is difficult for them. I feel confident in my ability to adapt to the needs of a student, since I myself learn through different formats. I love drawing and often work out the details of biological processes using my whiteboard. Biology and chemistry make up the strongest part of my academic background. I have three years of research experience. I have worked in labs involving bacteriophage bioinformatics, yeast molecular genetics, and plant metabolomics. I have presented my research at numerous conferences, including the Spring Texas Branch of the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) Meeting, Wadsworth Center Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Symposium, UT Austin Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium (FURS), and a few UNT College of Science showcases.
