Certified Tutor

Hi, I'm Anna! Previously, I attended Brooklyn Technical High School in NYC, and now I'm a sophomore at Cornell University, majoring in biology and society on a pre-med track. I would love to apply the knowledge I learn at both Brooklyn Tech and Cornell in the subjects of Chemistry, Chinese, Biology, and math (Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus) to my tutoring role. When introducing a new topic to a student, I usually utilize powerpoints to first summarize the important points of the topic. Then, I will go further into detail to explain the concepts that'll be most likely test on to the students. After ensuring the student understands the topic and essential concepts, I would first work on sample problems with the student together and then let the student work on sample problems themself to ensure that they understand the topic. As an enthusiastic tutor, I am dedicated to help my students to excel in their academics and solve their problems.

I consider myself an expert in tutoring Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Calculus as I have tutor underclassmen from my high school one on one in these subjects, and they all received an A in their Algebra class and a 4 or 5 on the AP calculus exam.

I belief I qualify to tutor in the subject of chemistry with levels ranging from high school chemistry to AP chemistry, and finally to college level chemistry. This is because I have taken all these chemistry courses, receiving an average of 100 in my high school level chemistry class, a 5 on the AP chemistry exam, and an A in both General Chemistry 1 and 2 at Cornell University in my freshman year. Previously, I tutor high school chemistry, AP chemistry, and SAT subject chemistry to my underclassmen in high school through the National Honor Society, and currently, I'm a TA for General Chemistry this summer for my professor at Cornell, prepping incoming freshman of Cornell and getting them ready for the General Chemistry course.

I have also tutored students Chinese at the Woodside public library, ranging from conversational Chinese to reading
