I completed my Bachelors and Masters degree at Cuny Brooklyn College. I received my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics , with a minor in Children Studies, followed by my Masters of Science in Education as a Middle Childhood Education Specialist in Mathematics. While working on my Masters degree, I began a non profit learning center designed to help underprivileged , struggling students in or around the Brownsville area in Brooklyn, New York work towards improve their grades in mathematics classes and state exams. I also did private tutoring on the side with elementary,middle and high school students, while working as a daycare assistant.
As a public school teacher, I have had the pleasure with working with struggling students understand and practice concepts at various opening times in the day. Whether it is before school begins, on my lunch or after school, my students have full access to me.
