Certified Tutor

As a May 2019 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, I am passionate about writing and literature. During my undergraduate studies, I read over 500 books for personal and academic reasons. These texts ranged in time period, genre, and field-- allowing me to possess diverse knowledge and experiences. I also have written for personal and creative reasons as well as academic researched based work. I am also an MFA in Writing student at Columbia University.

I believe that knowledge is infinite, but only when it is accessible. By providing students the opportunity to access information and receive tutoring services, we are opening the realms of possibility for greatness that our youth and young adults can provide to strengthen this society. Given my skills in Literature and Writing, I seek to assist students in these areas and release their potential by aligning their skill set with mine to produce greater results for academic and personal success. I am also skilled in Sociology and History, with experience as a TA in Sociology at my undergraduate institution.

My experience with students from primary grades to college is quite extensive as I have instructed creative writing courses for primary grade students, tutored and instructed high school students in English Literature, edited college supplement essays for high school students, edited essays for college students, and held an Assistant to the Instructor role at my undergraduate institution for college students. These experiences allow me to connect with students of all age-levels and learning styles.

I currently work in the Events and Conferences field. For fun, I enjoy reading, writing, and conducting small DIY projects to add flavor to my living space. I am also working on writing an easy vegan and vegetarian cookbook for those who live in food desserts or do not have access to diverse food products. I am also a self-proclaimed film connoisseur. I believe that these experiences will allow me to connect with students in areas outside of academics which would make the learning process more enjoyable and fun.
