Certified Tutor

After retiring from many years of teaching 4-year-olds through 60-year-olds, I miss the fun of it! Now, since we have been in McKinney just for a few years, I'm ready to have those opportunities again. Even though the teaching years have been with the high school age in the classroom, I have spent at least 15 years during that time tutoring in English and teaching piano. Moving frequently across the United States has given me unique views into diverse cultures and mind sets. That contributes to my interests. So, what do I like to do? Read (presently, historical fiction about the American Indian ) and write anything and play the piano. When I was teaching in the city schools, I sponsored a fencing team because I loved the discipline, published a student literary magazine because the students loved writing. My interests change from time to time, though, particularly with athletic grandchildren and new friends. I hope to engender in my future students the same curiosity for reading and writing about absolutely anything. Life is more interesting that way!
