I am a Physics and Mathematics double major at the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC). I am also currently enrolled in an accelerated mathematics degree program that will allow me to obtain a Master's degree two semesters after graduating with my Bachelor's degrees. After completion of this, I will go to graduate school to obtain a Ph.D. in Physics. I know that I am interested in doing research, though I am not sure exactly what area of physics I would like to enter. However, I have found theoretical physics, specifically theoretical particle physics to be of a special intrigue. This interest is begotten from independent reading as well as coursework I have undergone at the University I attend.

Throughout my collegiate career at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, I have made academics a priority. This is reflected in my cumulative GPA of 3.99 and a GPA of 4.0 in my majors of Physics and Mathematics. However, I fully recognize that GPA does not provide a complete picture of a given student. Therefore, in addition to my GPA, I believe that I would be an excellent contributing member to the Varsity Tutors team because I have 1.5 years of experience in tutoring and supplemental instructing through UMKC's Academic Support and Mentoring. I was promoted to lead tutor last semester, and I was promoted to peer mentor this semester.
