For part of my life, I thought school was a burden. However, throughout my time, I found that education was the gift that schooling gave. It is easy to know facts, but that means nothing without true understanding. Personally I have found many flaws in the education system, but I decided to become a substitute teacher to try not to only teach them the material, but to teach them how amazing these subjects really are. I find it important to create a connection with these students to build trust. With this trust, it allows me to carry the burden of these students to lead through the murky waters of mathematics and science. School seems to be a very inefficient way to teach the majority of students and so that's why I believe that one-on-one interactions will help advance the students' knowledge in a more effective and efficient way.
