I have a B.A. in English with a minor in education and an M.A. in Heritage Preservation from Georgia State University. One of my graduate school history papers won an award from the Georgia Association of Historians. Although I student-taught 9th grade English and very much enjoyed it, I choose a professional career working for the State of Georgia 20+ years as a communications coordinator, and later a grants coordinator for the Historic Preservation Division, DNR, where I wrote press releases, newsletter articles, reports, video scripts, brochures and many publications. I was the editor of both a quarterly and monthly newsletter for the division. Also, earlier in my career, before receiving my M.A. degree, I worked as an editorial assistant at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper and wrote features articles with a by-line. I love the study of literature and history, and am happiest when I am writing! I look forward to helping students understand and enjoy literature and to improve their ability to write organized, legible, and grammatically correct reports, essays and other papers.
