My name is Haraldo and I am a student at Mesa Community College from which I plan to transfer to Arizona State University for Electrical Engineering.

I want to help others learn math because I feel it is a subject that can discourage many from achieving their academic or career goals. I believe that with an honest effort, math can be well understood by the common student. I enjoy tutoring because I am able to share my insight and understanding of the material to help others where they may be struggling. I also gain the opportunity to experience the different perspectives of the material that a student can offer which leads me to an even broader understanding.

I have tutored classmates in calculus courses which require a strong understanding of algebra and trigonometry as a foundation. I have also worked for public schools where I focused on helping students in their math courses ranging from prealgebra to precalculus.

My approach to tutoring is based on helping students make connections between the various concepts and problem solving tools learned. I find that understanding processes in problem-solving is just as important as finding a correct answer. With this basis, I work with students to fill in the gaps in their understanding of the material and build on that foundation.
