Certified Tutor

I received my education from University of San Francisco (Bachelors in Psychology) and I took Masters classes at Academy of Art University (MFA in Photography). Aside from school, my biggest teacher has definitely been my experiences traveling and volunteering! I have had the privilege of traveling to 34 countries- whether it was to build in Sri Lanka, to photograph women's issues in Southeast Asia, or teach in Costa Rica.

I have been working with students since I was 16 with an after school program in Maryland. I have tutored with groups called IMPRINT (middle schoolers- all subjects), El Centro (for essay writing assistance for native Spanish speakers), and also taught 4th and 5th grade English classes in Liberia, CR. Upon my time living in San Francisco, I tutored multiple subjects for private and public school students, as well.

I tutor Spanish (all levels), English, Writing, Reading, Social Studies, Psychology, Philosophy, Organizational Management, Study Skills, Test Prep.

I enjoy tutoring all subjects- but my favorite is probably teaching languages to non-native speakers because it is incredibly rewarding breaking down something viewed as overwhelming or complicated into sections! I do not believe my job is done unless goals in learning are reached and something finally clicks. When confidence is instilled it makes all the difference in terms of motivation, willpower, study skills and overall performance.

I am adaptable to a variety of personalities, ages, learning styles, and learning levels! I am very thorough, I get to know my students and their individual needs, and perhaps most importantly I make learning FUN!

Outside of tutoring/ academia I am a professional photographer, I love doing yoga, hiking, camping and being outside, creative projects, and spending time with family and friends! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to meeting you and helping you succeed!!
