I have a biology degree from Stony Brook University. As a former biology student, I have learned the importance of a positive mindset, working smart, and never giving up. Pursuing a biology degree at SBU has advanced my math skills tremendously due to the vigorous math and science courses taken as a prerequisite. My passion for math began when I was in high school. I enjoyed math because I could work out any problem just by applying the rules. I noticed that with enough practice, everything started to connect and make sense. My goal is to show students how useful math is in the everyday world. I want to help students reach their own personal goals by guiding them through the material and supporting them every step of the way. I will teach students valuable study skills and tips. I can help them create a study plan, set goals, and introduce them to different resources. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish. I will use different teaching methods that fit well with the type of learner they are. Most importantly, I am here to encourage and motivate students to be the best they can be. I primarily focus on teaching students algebra 1 and elementary math. I would also prefer to work with students in a public location.
